SCISA History Day
$120 Per School
Set-up begins at 9:30 a.m. ~ Event will end at approximately 3:00 p.m.
The SCISA History Day, patterned after the National History Day Program, allows students the flexibility to submit their projects to NHD competitions if they so choose. This program is designed to enhance student’s reading comprehension, verbal, analytical, reasoning, and research skills. The program provides a theme and the students choose a topic which piques their interest.
There will be two divisions:
- Middle School (grades 6, 7, & 8)
- High School (grades 9-12)
The required components are:
A competing school must send at least one sponsor to a Mandatory Meeting to be held at the SCISA Office on a date TBA. Each entry must have an Exhibit Board and a Process Paper with documented research (details in Glossary). Every student with an entry must be present and remain with their project until dismissed by a SCISA Director
Awards
- 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Place Trophies in both Middle & High School will be awarded.
- Best Display Trophy in both Middle & High School will be awarded.
- Best Oral Presentation Trophy in both Middle & High School will be awarded.
- Limited to the first 12 schools registered.
- Schools may enter a total of 6 projects.
