WELCOME TO THE 2023 SCISA MUSIC FESTIVAL. WE ARE GLAD YOU ARE HERE!
PLEASE NOTE THAT ROOM 016 IS NOT IN THE STRINGS PROJECT BUILDING. IT IS IN THE BASEMENT OF THIS BUILDING (THE SCHOOL OF MUSIC)
Room 220 for Piano is in the Strings Building. Room 220 for string and flute solos is on the second floor of this building (the school of music).
- Rooms beginning with “0” are in the basement – Please use stairs, not elevator.
- Rooms beginning with “1” are on the 1st floor.
- Rooms beginning with “2” are on the 2nd floor… Please use stairs, not elevator.
- The string building is located behind and across the street from the main building - 851 Park Street, the bottom floor of the Discovery Parking Garage.
Remember, there is no registration process. Students simply report directly to their rooms (or to warm-up rooms).

SCISA Bus Parking
Student may be dropped off via the circular drive in front of the building.
1. Yellow striped area on Koger Center side of Park Street - DO NOT block fire hydrant (10 foot buffer - minimum)
2. Park Street side of Strom Thurmond Wellness if available - may be blocked due to construction in the area
3. Overflow parking - Barnwell Parking lot.
School of Music Loading dock - loading and unloading only. Unattended vehicles will be ticketed and towed. Jesus Christ, Superstar is at Koger tonight. Depending on when they have load-out, there may or may not be space for a bus on Park St. behind the School of Music. Drivers should stay with the vehicles.
There is plenty of metered street parking available for cars due to the fact that students are on break. There is also paid parking for cars in the garage directly behind the School of Music (entrance on Park St.)
Helpful Information:
- SPONSORS ARE RESPONSIBLE for completing the top portion of each adjudication sheet!
- SPONSORS ONLY may pick up adjudication sheets from the SCISA table – not parents, grandparents, or students.
Students:
Students should report directly to their warm-up rooms (see schedule)

- The string building is located behind and across the street from the main building - 851 Park Street, the bottom floor of the Discovery Parking Garage.
- Please have your students wait quietly just outside the judge’s door until called in by the judge.
- Upon entering, they submit their adjudication sheet to the judge.
- There are NO AUDIENCES for any performance
- Please inform anyone coming with you (your bus drivers, chaperones, parents, grandparents) where you will be.
- Allow at least 30 minutes for the runners to deliver the adjudication sheets from each performance room to the SCISA table.
- Remember the SCISA Dress Code. NO JEANS, NO SHORTS, NO GUM. Students will not be allowed to perform if inappropriately dressed.
Medals:
- Medals are $7 each and can be purchased with cash or check (payable to SCISA) after adjudication sheets are retrieved by the sponsor.
Please also remember that these judges are from the USC School of Music – it is an honor to perform in their presence and all medals are to be celebrated!
